Pros

Worked in the IT department. Well branded Canadian Bank Brand. Base Salary was 65K/Year, ( This varies for person to person) Good Yearly Bonus. Some departments are lucky to get Managers that deliver on either side ( Up & Down)

Cons

Managers do not understand and pass on unnecessary work pressure to the bottom & decrease productivity. Nobody looks at the personal preferences of low-level managers for promotions. Performance reviews are a sham. You are forced to spend too much time (10 pages) of performance report every year and the bonus & increments are decided by the junior manager well in advance!

Pros

Large company with some great banking products. Branded towards providing great service. Average salary & benefits. Strong Asset Management arm.

Cons

Conservative approach. Career advancement opportunities are slower than other FI's as role commitment periods are strictly enforced. Not a lot of leeway to apply to other departments or other regions without manager and VP support (at least at the retail branch level).
