Take this as a warning befor joining the Indian department of Rakuten. Rakuten is a good company if you're working from anywhere other than India. The senior management is just worse and the HR department is the worst. Lot of politics. People going for breakfast with HR and managers to please them. The work never gets done because of petty politics and seniors just sleeping around while the juniors are left to figure things out on their own. The HRs are busy in politics too and the worst ever seen elsewhere. They're just tarnishing Rakutens image in India. The Bangalore office and the senior management is really bad. Theyf make you work on weekends and the credits will be taken away by the managers. They'll showcase your work to the seniors in Japan and will continue doing nothing. They'll try to lure you with benefits and good salary but once you join the company it's all downhill from there. And if you're good with bootlicking this is the company for you. Good luck!!

soul crushing, borderline harassment from mediocre managers. Rampant nepotism. Zero attention to innovation and creativity, they talk about diversity but they really don't care. Your boss is allowed to sabotage your work.
