Riot Games Response

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, though it's troubling to hear this feedback. It is important to us that all Rioters have a positive and supportive environment that allows them to focus on delivering value to players. Based on your review, it sounds like you had a less than great experience, and we always want to hear how we can do better, especially if it involves unwanted and unwelcome behavior. I hope you would be open to sharing any specifics with me so I can look into the areas you brought up. Please reach out to me at cmoore@riotgames.com so we can better understand what you’ve experienced and we can address the issues that you raised. - Christa Moore

Pros

Riot is a great place to work. The company really takes care of its employees, office is awesome, and there are many awesome perks such as free food and drinks, great equipment, international travel multi times a year, company retreats and more. The culture is also amazing, people are really encouraged to give candid feedback and help you grow and develop as a professional. And of course, if you're a gamer, this is your place to be. Riot live by it's philosophy of being the most player focused company in the world, meaning you have the autonomy to create great things that players will love, and see your work impacting people around the globe.

Cons

Work-life balance is nearly impossible, I'd say. Specially if you're working on some specific areas such as eSports and live shows, you'll be away from home and working around the clock a lot. Rioters working in regions outside the HQ in Los Angeles are seen as second class citizens, which is not nice at all.

Pros

Cool company outings, food delivery, moving assistance, playtest mornings, fun dance party bathrooms

Cons

Testers are severely under valued due to the demand for these positions, company mentorship for leads to find their strengths and put them in the right position is lacking Instead of having coaching was basically let go because of one error that leaked through, manager was lacking management skills cause company grew too fast at the time Pay was absolutely disgusting. Took a pay cut with 3 years experience to move to LA to try this out, couldn't stand working 10+ hours a day and getting paid peanuts. You can make more than double this in any other industry
