      Micromanagement is rife in tech circles

      - Opportunities for personal and professional growth - Perks like free food, car allowance, free laptop, lots of office space - Team holidays and massive parties

      Cons

      - Non technical managers micromanaging technical employees - Tech employees are treated like slaves - Non-tech employees are respected more than engineers in a company built on software - Too many acquisitions for tech staff to handle (and for non-tech staff to enjoy) - More growth opportunities for non-tech (this is a downward spiral for SAP) - High management to project ratio - Focus is on development of business side while neglecting engineering - Copying the "IBM" culture i.e. employees acting like they are over professional and formal when in reality managers are barking at techies because they themselves don't have a technical background
