Pros

Paid training, instant clientele, offers CEU hours, decent benefits package

Cons

Strict rules (5pp), no paid time off (unless you earn it), you are expected to cover your own shift if you’re sick, late hours, commission is difficult to achieve

Thank you for the time spent with us! This is valuable feedback and I will share it with the appropriate party. Each store owner handles benefits and compensation differently. Stylists are on the front line, engaging clients every day. I appreciate your hard work while you were with us. I wish you the best!

Pros

They will hire anyone that is licensed. Good place to learn how to cut hair hands on out of school.

Cons

I worked for a few different owners and went to several huddles (manager and owner conventions) and I will say not one owner actually cares about their employees, they are only considered a number. … half of them don’t even know who their employees are because they have the store managers run everything , literally running a whole Company to get paid a salary that you can hardly live off of so that the owners are thriving. Imagine spending every ounce of energy building a business so that an investor gets rich and you can barely live. The hourly wage is terrible for how much work they require the employees to do. they make it almost impossible to make extra money with bonuses or commission because they set the bar to be impossible. Everything is corporate and has to be done in a corporate matter. During the pandemic in 2020 they opens their stores as soon as the governor allowed, while it’s great that they have their employees that opportunity to be able to make money, they didn’t do it for them , the did it for themselves and even raised prices on services but not one employee got a raise in their salary. This place will burn you out so quick , it made me hate cutting hair until I found another place that wasn’t corporate and realized it wasn’t the career I chose but the work environment. There are no real benefits, no health insurance, no 401k , no vacation or sick pay, and no paid holidays but you’re closed for some major ones? Also some stores close at 8/9 on weekdays, 7 on Saturday and Sunday and require you to work weekends….so if you’re a parent just plan to not have much of a home life.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I do not know which location you worked at and would like to provide this feedback to them. Please reach out to me at Stephanie.zinsmeyer@sportclips.com or update your review with the location. There are so many variables to achieving a work-life balance that works for you and your family. It is so important to set healthy boundaries, communicate them to your employer and stick to them! Easier said than done. It is not easy to stand by if you see your team in need. Thank you for all that you did to support your team. I am sorry that you did not feel appreciated! Please get back to me about the location. I wish you the best!

Terrible company to work for

Business Outlook

Pros

No time off, expected to be on the road 7 days a week, was hired to be on the road 2.5 days a week. Was required to work during a medical leave, and told the company wouldn't be reimbursing me as it could get the company in trouble. No company vehicle insurance even though we were told we were covered, I was t-boned on the highway not my fault, and was told I needed to make a claim with my personal insurance company.

Cons

Everything they treat people terrible, all the owner cares about is adding another car to his collection. Took away everyone's bonuses even though the company was highly profitable
