Pros

Fun sports environment, great tips, good benefits including several health and dental plans, no chemicals, great educational support and plenty of opportunities for advancement. 700+ salons nationwide and growing every week!

Cons

Open seven days per week so if some one is out sick, it makes it difficult for those working to keep their schedule from changing.

Pros

Its a salon geared towards men so there are no chemical services. They are a great place to start working right out of cosmetology school. They train you to use their cutting system and it is very easy. Education and product information classes are provided.

Cons

Open everyday, so you don't get a steady schedule, have to meet sales goals, mostly women stylists so there may be some DRAMA!

Pros

Base pay at most locations is $10/hr, which is (sadly) above average for most chain salons. Uniforms are very comfortable - you get to wear track suits, jerseys, and sneakers to work! Environment is generally pretty laid back - no chemical services, and a chill all-male clientele

Cons

Technical training is not frequent enough to be terribly useful and the techniques taught often make no sense for use on real clients. Stylists must follow an extremely detailed procedure for each cut (called the "5 point play") that basically takes all thought and personality out of the job. It is generally ignored, but if it is not followed to a "T" when QA shows up, the owner is fined and there will be hell to pay! Franchise owners often have no salon experience and therefore don't really understand the business. They are often fairly absent in daily business, which in my experience led to a lot of unprofessional behavior and incompetent managers allowed to do whatever they felt like doing.
