A very German/Dutch-centric company

Pros

Soon to be listed, I guess.

Cons

There is a glass ceiling in your career if you are not German or Dutch or based in one of their offices in continental Europe. Local staff members based in regional and satellite offices do not get anywhere near the very small inner circle that effectively makes all the strategic decisions. Decisions are often made by someone thousands of miles away who has little knowledge of local business. Opportunities are given to people not because of their abilities and track records but by their racial backgrounds. Stingy as hell when it comes to staff amenities, benefits and remuneration, and business travel.

Extremely negative work environment in Asia

Pros

An okay place if you can bear with the amount of internal politics going on everyday. Colleagues are friendly if their roles do not have direct working relationship with you.

Cons

Most colleagues you have to work aren’t helpful, need to watch your back all the time because people here seem to be looking out for opportunities to stab at each other. The managers and directors are all not getting along to improve things, they just fight with one another. This makes it hard for advancement The facilities and tools (internet, systems, computer and software) provided are outdated compared to competitors. It makes work more inefficient and more labor required for the same tasks. The management is disconnected from the realities at the ground. Compensation and benefits are below average.

Pros

Your team-mates will be amazingly helpful and brilliant. Soft skills training is quite good. Fair restrictions on internet use.

Cons

Pay is below average. Very limited co-ordination between departments. Lack of honesty at the managerial level and above. Visible discrimination between IT and non-IT employees wrt facilities provided.
