Pros

Springer's a great company, especially with respect to benefits (time off, sick days, health/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) matching, annual bonuses, etc.). Health insurance in particular is incredibly inexpensive and very comprehensive. Hard work is recognized - and results are rewarded.

Cons

It can be difficult to move up though, and is pretty much entirely dependent on whether or not your direct boss likes you and is willing to fight for you. Editorial is paid less than any other department, which doesn't seem fair because Springer wouldn't have a product to sell if Editorial didn't exist. Marketing and Sales get the majority of Springer's salary dollars.
