Pros

The only "pro" of working at Springer is that the company is so woefully disorganized that you can get away with doing any real work. It's the kind of place where your manager is either too incompetent or too checked out to care whether or not you disappear for a few hours. No one is running the ship, therefore, no one cares where it is heading.

Cons

Springer is among the most demoralizing workplaces I've ever been in. The company is constantly changing everything about its business practices, rolling out programs before critical errors are resolved, and reshuffling employees. The addition of Nature Publishing Group is only going to make matters worse, as Palgrave and Nature are just as poorly managed (though both companies are under the impression that Springer is a bastion of organization).

Pros

Have been working with Crest for almost two years now with a great technology stack - Scala, Play, TDD and pair programming. Teams have been setup in a completely Agile setup which is very similar to what you find at ThoughtWorks. Some of the colleagues that we work/partner have been ExThoughtWorkers. Has a great team culture - where everyone can voice their opinions, no voice is unheard :) Be it the awesome team parties (mind you we do have an enormous number of them) or outings people are really noisy and have great fun. I am actually recommending people to come over and see how we actually work before going with any of the reviews here.

Cons

Glass door reviews can be intimidating but 95% of the reviews are from the PreMedia section of the company. The culture is completely different when it comes to IT division.
