      Given the authority to run your own publishing program, interesting work, opportunity for travel.

      Cons

      Compensation over the last few years in terms of merit increases has been low 1-2% max for most. Signing goals and publishing goals routinely raised each year by 20% with no additional staff. Little room for advancement once you make senior editor.
