Pros

- Flexible Work Hours: The company offered flexibility in work hours, which greatly contributed to a balanced work-life experience. - Free Lunch: The provision of free lunches was a thoughtful benefit and appreciated by the team.

Cons

- Disparity in Compensation: A notable issue was the CTO's practice of hiring his referrals at significantly higher CTC compared to existing employees. This created a sense of inequity within the team. - Management and HR Issues: The new VPs exhibited a misbehaving style, and when concerns were raised with HR or the CTO, the response was unsatisfactory. HR's lack of clarity on policies and their lack of authority, as well as the CTO’s ego-driven decision-making, were significant drawbacks. - Senior Leaders' Behavior: Senior leaders often overshadowed their teams by collecting data and work from them, then presenting this information to management as their own. This practice undermined the contributions of team members and created a sense of disillusionment. - Incompetent Leadership: New senior leaders lacked an understanding of the code and complex logic but presented themselves as knowledgeable. Their inability to provide technical assistance further strained the team’s ability to meet objectives. - CTO's Referral Practice: The CTO’s referrals did not work on existing production projects, thereby avoiding the challenges associated with production issues. This practice allowed them to remain insulated from the day-to-day operational difficulties. - Defensive Behavior: The CTO consistently defended their referrals, even when solid proof of misbehavior and incompetence was presented. This created an environment where accountability was undermined. - Unpredictable Reward System: Rewards and recognitions could be revoked without clear reasons, leading to frustration and a lack of motivation among staff. - Inadequate Facilities: The absence of a parking facility and cab services was inconvenient and added to the daily challenges of commuting. - Lack of Negotiation and Process: There was no option for salary negotiation, and the lack of established processes made the work environment less efficient and organized.
