Hostile environment

Recommend
Business Outlook

Pros

Flexible schedule, no week day mornings.

Cons

The environment is hostile in the matter of you are pushed to get people to add smothereds to their food which is mushrooms, onions and/ shrimp to steaks or chicken etc. If you dont get enough people to spend the extra money on this you get punished and or fired for failure to perform. People are broke and on a budget right now not our fault. You also get punished for not performing well enough with gift card sales. You get a 2 table section on weekends which make them not worth it. They will make you do your side/closing work and other employees as well as rewards and punishment. They will make you go to meetings to better you at it and encourage ringing in orders different then the menu which charges the customer more just to get those smothers you also won't get more than 2 to 4 shifts a week. They hire so many people and basically let everyone fight over the shifts and then give the shifts to their favorite employees.

Pros

Management is great, for the most part. Coworkers genuinely had my back & it was a great team. I'd end up with $100-120 in tips, before tax, per day.

Cons

The big one is the amount of pressure to upsell-- it's not a high income area and most people arent going to buy extras no matter how good you are at sales. You only have 3 tables at a time; they have a tendency to overstaff, so the slow days are VERY slow. Cut work is a bit much. Guests tip poorly there more often than other restaurant jobs & tend to make a pretty big mess on the floor/tables. Despite all this, it was still a good work environment & one of the better options in town.
