Do Not Work There

Pros

- flexible scheduling - occasional food provided (such as fries, potatoes, and broccoli) - possibility of making good money with tips

Cons

- does not pay minimum wage - expects a huge amount of effort and extra cleaning after the tables are closed that is not compensated fairly (servers make $2.15/hour) - disrespectful and verbally abusive work environment - poor management and inappropriate behavior (ex. managers impregnating servers) - servers are not protected by management and deal with harassment by customers (ex. I was threatened to be stabbed with a steak knife and the customer was allowed to finish his dinner) - the time you leave is up to manager discretion (you never know if you are going home at 8pm or midnight) - company pay and card tips are given through a third party company which charges the server a percentage of their own tips in order to transfer to their own bank account - does not respond to any messages or questions via the app that we are supposed to use to communicate so important things and time off is often overlooked - it is a no-hour contract so scheduling is based on how much management likes you (I had plenty of hours, I just think it is unfair) - can ask for small portions of food if the kitchen likes you, but the discount for meals is only 15%, so it is expensive to eat - many of the servers were pregnant and the managers did not take that into consideration when giving them cleaning jobs (ex. making full-term pregnant women clean the floors and bottom shelves)
