Pros

Great team to work with. They are good with building relationships among employees.

Cons

The advocates don’t get paid enough for all the various types of calls that they have to handle. They take calls on benefits, claims, and more from customers, they take calls to assist providers and also brokers. Then they also take calls to troubleshoot internet issues for multiple Cigna sites. It’s a lot to learn how to navigate so many different systems and be able to properly help the callers in a decent amount of time.

Pros

the ability to work from home is great, and if your supervisor trusts you, you get some wiggle room to self-start and do what you need to do to help a customer. Sadly, not everyone gets such a supervisor.

Cons

internal morale has never been lower. Cigna advertises their profitability, but never have so few employees been asked to shoulder so much work. call volume is through the roof right now, because Cigna keeps attracting new accounts. the company is more than happy to blame its own employees for 'not handling the calls efficiently enough' instead of blaming its own greed and not hiring more employees. and as such, customer feedback is also at an all time low point. bonuses have been reworked, so that they are given out less consistenly. Promotions are advertised, and then the jobs are taken down without anyone being hired. most new hire classes see half of their ranks quit in within a year. and cooperation between departments is horrendous.

Pros

Strong remote working support Great work/life balance Genuinely enjoyed many of my coworkers PTO decent (23-28 days)

Cons

Employee health benefits are overpriced relative to quality Base salary significantly under competitors (15% +/-) Bonus are subjective based, so despite company posting record profits they'll still tell employees to tighten their belts and pay 80-90% of your bonus No fresh leadership, ideas are recycled and problems are consistently kicked down road Leadership has made clear talent retention is not a priority; suspect best talent will continue to leave organization for companies that aren't afraid to show financial appreciation of staff, particularly in this job market
