They don't want you to talk about compensation for this reason. - No promotion opportunity without kissing xx, even then you likely won't be promoted. - Performance Reviews are not indicative of your actual output, they are based on a curve, someone will receive a bad score regardless if everyone is meeting expectations. The bad score will be given to the least liked individual. - Leadership loves to gossip, the "culture" is reminiscent to high school / sorority/ fraternity culture. You must "fit in" the group (very white homogeneous group). Individual thought or introverted behavior is frowned upon. They will make up false rumors about you, isolate you and/or backstab you. They will whisper talking bad in your presence. Everything gets leaked because they are not loyal to each other.
