      People at Toptal are great to work with and extremely sharp. I get why it’s hard to get in.

      The CEO and decisions made are a one man show and he doesn’t really listen to feedback so the top level management culture is not so good

      - There’s good talent and people within teams - Perks are usually appealing

      Cons

      - Mass layoffs for the last two years - Toxic leadership, especially from the CEO and People team - Poor planning for teams and functioning - Terrible marketing of products. Products are built and rushed to completion, with poor rollout and marketing strategies. - CEO is toxic and his poor leadership qualities run down management - Stakeholders are extremely controlling and tough to manage - Layoffs are handled insensitively and badly

      - The people that work there are generally smart and nice people - Remote work is a huge benefit

      Cons

      Where to start.... - Lots of turnover in executive ranks. - No salaries increases for the past 2 1/2 years, including no salary adjustments for promotions and no cost of living increases. - Continuous layoffs; cut another 30-40% of employees in October - CEO has a terrible management style (aggressive and confrontational) and is very emotional - you can be in favor and then lose favor quickly, and then you're gone. - No coherent growth strategy - CEO has new ideas for business lines every month and thinks it takes a few months to build a completely new product.
