Pros

Some of the most talented people I've ever worked with were at this company. Most have since left, voluntarily or through restructuring. Compensation and benefits have been above average, in my experience, although 2023 bonuses were lower and 2024 bonuses are not looking good.

Cons

Having a toxic culture may be common to financial services firms in general, but TransUnion wasn't a healthy environment even prior to the current economic troubles. It's significantly worse coming into 2024. TransUnion has never managed to integrate any of their acquisitions, creating lots of chaos and making it impossible to have consistent processes or technology. After yet another restructuring and significant reduction in staff, it's clear that as many commodity jobs and middle management positions will be relocated to cheaper geographies. It's not a good time to be a US-based employee at TransUnion.

Pros

Money is good for the most part.

Cons

Benefits are not great. Low amount of HSA contributions by the company. Dental is going out of network for all of our family’s dentists. Layoffs is another one. They sent out an email about layoffs the week before thanksgiving. Had a couple virtual meetings to go through the email but no one on the calls could go into specifics. Two weeks later they sent an email noting that anyone who is going to get laid off will receive a meeting invite with HR and their manager for the next day and it would be sent out by end of day. They sent this to the entire company.
