Pros

Flex time in certain positions, nice campus. Most other pros are things of the past.

Cons

Performance reviews depend on whether or not your manager likes you, not your actual performance. Steady acquisition of other companies while telling employees that the company can't afford merit increases. Employee appreciation efforts increasingly revealed to be lip service. Management decided that sales support staff could be turned into actual sales staff with sales quotas, but gave no apparent consideration to each employees actual strengths and abilities. Customers who had a bad experience with one office are no longer given the option to work with a different office. Benefits and perks are gradually worsening or disappearing altogether. Management seems to be addicted to change. Voicing even constructive concerns about a change gets you labeled as a troublemaker. Managers who get caught in immoral activities with married subordinates get little more than a slap on the wrist. Employees are generally treated like grade schoolers instead of the professional adults they are. If you want to get ahead, you had best pucker up. Otherwise, you won't get ahead.

Pros

The working environment is pretty good as your colleagues are mix of international and Dutch. They are quite friendly.

Cons

Way below-average salary. For PhDs, they offer 3K monthly, which you at least get 3.5K else where. You have to perform testing task, which is extremely boring.

Pros

Great mission, interesting work, if you're actually allowed to work on it in between dodging political minefields. Expose to supply chain, private and public sector underbelly, global commerce, some really nice people. Fantastic if you are in the VP, C-suite because you don't have to produce any real business results but still get all the benefits. Could be one of the best companies if board fired 2/3 of the sr. management.

Cons

Sr. management reorgs more often than people shift chairs on the Titanic. Countless discussions trying to figure out what the company strategy is or where it's going with no clarity from anyone, especially from VPs and the C-suite. Some of the grossest petty politics I've seen between execs who clearly can't stand/work with each other and not only don't care about the "little people" but can't even bother to acknowledge them in the room sometimes. Have worked with a lot of big companies and this is the worst one because of leadership- or lack thereof. Literally have been in a room where a VP has said "Might be good for UL, but not my department" and relishes in making peers miserable. Work life balance is a joke in some departments where literally you're scrutinized for taking for a vacation day. All the upper managers are more concerned about manipulating numbers to make their bonuses and have no problem spending millions on things like sports outings while 200 people get laid off and everyone is told no raises for the next few years. On top of that, a lot of the people aren't very smart and have no business having the titles they have, except for the engineers and scientists. No one has the guts to tell the emperor he has no clothes.
