Pros

Always working as a team. Great Benefits. Great travel. You learn a great deal about the world, U.S., and individuals you might not have ever met. You learn discipline, and how to safely and properly handle various weapons and tools in combat situations. You learn many life skills and make life long friends.

Cons

Minimal time off, and extremely physically demanding. You must be willing to risk your life to complete the mission, not that that is always a con. Staying motivated can difficult depending on your command team. The skill set is hard to use outside of the military.

Pros

You can obtain new skills and experiences. The army is good if you aren't sure what you want to do.

Cons

As expected, they get their pound of flesh. Consider yourself lucky if you end up in a unit where they don't work extra hours and constantly hear that it "could be worse".
