Pros

Decent pay for someone with no college. The best advice I could give is to either go warrant or get certified.

Cons

Long hours, low deployment pay, long deployments, promotion system is broken, bad food, bad uniforms, the people aren't the brightest.

Pros

Guaranteed paycheck, you get to play with guns, always learning something new, meet some of the coolest people out there, people always reconize you, looks great on a resume, and you get the satisfaction of knowing you did something with your life.

Cons

Alot of crap that you have to put up with, promotions are hard to come by in some mos's, and alot of time away from home.

Pros

Great responsibility, degrees of freedom and support for product development (drugs and vaccines) at early and mid career. However, late career advancement requires increasing work and responsibility in non-R&D management.

Cons

The relatively low R&D budgets are more than offset by the unique national and international assetts available for serious R&D efforts, and the strong legal support for contracts, agreements and rigorous clinical development.
