Traing the troops

Pros

feeling statisified that I was contributing to orginization's effort to keep troops trained and ready to defend and keep themselves alive. Increase thier ability to cause significant damage to the enemy's ability to keep fighting.

Cons

Big Army needs to follow the SF doctrine of streamlined decision making. Put it in the hands of those who actually carry out the mission. Politicians need to have less say in how wars are fought or follow the troops into the field to implement the politicians misguided strageties.

Pros

Guaranteed paycheck, great benefits, and opportunity to retire at an early age with lifelong pension

Cons

Told what to do at all times of the day. Treated like a child, level of respect from superiors changes from person to person and drastically.

Pros

Sense of pride in your job, if you can stay in long enough the retirement plans can't be beat, and free health care

Cons

long hours that you won't get paid extra for, have to deploy to other countries for many months away from your family, inherent dangers with the job
