Pros

Good pay and the benefits were excellent. You get raises just for spending more time in the Army for a little longer.

Cons

This job was horrible. If someone gets in trouble, everyone does. it's ridiculous. Long hours, you lose weekends, lunches, etc. Not worth it.

Pros

The life of a senior officer in DC is a good onet. Over all you get to see the cutting edge of running our Army from the top.

Cons

Tough hours and expensive living make it a challenge. Many jobs are frustratingly involved in minutia and powerpoint dazzling. Over all it is interesting work.

Pros

Clear career trajectory, numerous potential work locations, high variety of potential assignments, opportunity to play with extremely "cool" military hardware, practical leadership experience extremely early in a career, consistent responsibility.

Cons

Little ability to impact where/when you'll be reassigned (i.e. Needs of the Army), Narrow minded culture that can be intolerant of other cultures/lifestyles (extreme homophobia, referring to Iraqis as "Hajji"), Low average level of education, Leadership at all levels is rather hit or miss and the system does not aggressively weed out low performers.
