      Great opportunity for personal development...socialist compensation system sucks!

      Pros

      Insane benefits, 30 days paid leave, high % of tax free income, you can essentiallly get away with murder/be in the 90th percentile of laziness and still get paid.

      Cons

      No matter how hard you work, no matter how much more value you add than your peers, no matter how much ninja smoke your peers use to disapear at work--you will never get paid more than her/him. It is a bit disturbing how many underperformers are allowed to sham 20 years away doing very little to earn the very fair pay.

      Pros

      You get to shoot big guns, drive huge trucks, and play with some of the most advanced technology in the world.

      Cons

      Promotion is not based on merit often times. The vaction time is deceptive. The healthcare is sub par. Higher management does not care about anything but getting to the next rank.

      Pros

      pride in serving your country. A large amount of responsibility and leardership experience at a young age. Experience that you will be able to reach back to for a life time.

      Cons

      promotion system is based off of time in service, not ability. A large amount of senior leadership is power oriented, not focused on development and mentoring of subordinates.
