Pros

Strong leadership experience with opportunities to develop technical and problem-solving skills. Work environment emphasized accountability, teamwork, and mission completion. Gained valuable experience managing personnel, equipment, and high-pressure situations.

Cons

Work-life balance can be challenging at times, with long hours and high expectations. Resources and staffing levels may not always align with workload demands. Advancement opportunities can depend heavily on timing and organizational needs.

Pros

I don't have to worry about most things when it comes to living (rent, insurance). Financially you are as secure as how well you can manage your own finances. Lots of perks for education and certifications/licenses.

Cons

I don't enjoy being micromanaged. You may work an 8 hour shift, but you are almost always in contact with leadership regarding things beyond your actual work duties for the military. It's an expectation and understandable, but you have more freedoms as a civilian, but more perks while you are in the service.
