      Horrible corporate environment...hugely political with little to no regard to employee satisfaction. WORK ELSEWHERE!

      Pros

      Very little. They have a lot of products to sell, with good suppliers, but the work environment is so horrible it's not worth it.

      Cons

      Extremely political--a "good ole' boy" network dominates who gets promoted, and who doesn't. Low pay, with questionable tactics on bonuses. Bonuses have been promised (via e-mail signed by management), then taken away with a "we made a mistake" as their only reason. Micro-management of all sales, with very little to no recognition of individual contributions. Customers do NOT like to buy from Univar due to the numerous restrictions, and lack of customer-friendly ideals.

      Pros

      Awesome people work for Univar. The large organization offers opportunities for advancement and career development, particularly if you are willing to relocate.

      Cons

      Some upper management is out of touch with the rest of the workforce. Lack of organization of large projects causes chaos, stress and massive overtime. Often hear about "budget cuts" preventing anything more than a tiny annual increase, while seeing massive unnecessary spending in other areas.
