Pros

Freedom Young culture Tech Sharing points of view Weekly rituals: Demo friday

Cons

The upper management wants to control everything even the day by day operation’s and conversation’s , this gives a very complicated daily role deployment as you need to have approval of the LATAM management for EVERYTHING and it’s contradictory with the “ manage your rules just reach the goal” as it’s never enough for the management. LATAM is growing and the pain gets harder when are so many secrets around the goals. Sometimes you just wonder what is coming next as the managers ALL OF THEM are busy selling, but not caring of the people!! Seems that Brazil operations are the core and the other regions are an additional, not taken care by an HR team, and the HR Head it’s just in Brazil. This responsibility is being transferred to the chiefs of staff which are really busy right now to take care of this strategies. Absence of competitive benefits such as: - No 401 K - No health benefits for some Growth (LATAM) countries

Pros

- Working with talented colleagues; - Experience in an international company.

Cons

- Toxic work environment where people are overworked, undervalued and not fairly compensated; - "Your work is your family" mindset is part of this toxic environment that makes people work a lot of extra hours; - People are seriously underpaid and there are a lot of salary discrepancies. Some areas and some people in the company get a lot for what they do, but that is not the reality of the people I've worked with. In fact, since the new COO joined, a lot of people are leaving VTEX for not being recognised, paid fairly and valued (these are also the reasons that made me quit); - Unfortunately the new leadership (COO) only cares about numbers and her own external reputation, and not people which is highly unmotivating. It's frustrating to see people who work so hard and give so much to the company being exploited by the leadership; - Some people I've worked with suffered from burnouts and didn't get the support they needed; - The company is also very disorganized, there is lack of planning which results in the culture of "everything is for yesterday". This causes a lot of unnecessary stress and I think results could be way higher quality if well planned; - People are unable to grow professionally because of all the reasons mentioned above; - I sincerely hope the leadership changes and that VTEX becomes the company it promises to be (fair, inclusive, bold, disruptive in the tech industry). These are the values that made me join the company and that unfortunately were broken; - With all of this I would not recommend VTEX to anyone. Know your worth and fight for what you deserve! I speak from my experience but I also worked with a lot of people from different countries and can verify this is not an isolated case or office or area.
