Dreadful experience

Business Outlook

Pros

They didn't break any laws that I'm aware of

Cons

WB bought Starbucks I was employed at. They: Cut hours, cut benefits, didn't replace staff leaving so we were overworked in every shift. They screwed up on payroll multiple times leading me to be emergency taxed every week for a month, so I was barely surviving. Their staff who came to train us the welcome break way were miserable and arrogant.

Terrible place! NEVER AGAIN

Pros

Nothing at all, I would not recommend d

Cons

Worked there for nearly four years. Management incompetent, and do preferential treatment. You could be the be the best at your job but would prefer to hire a minor to be your manager and tell you what to do, even though they themselves do not know what they're doing. Ungrateful- I would work overtime, often without getting paid but the day I say I need to go home early or if I felt sick, they said that I was faking it and got angry with me. Because of favouritism as well, a lot if people would come in drunk and get sent home and fired, or if they were well liked, they would call in sick (even though they were actually out all night partying) and then they would pester you to come in on short notice to cover the shift. They talk behind your back and whilst you're by yourself, serving customer, they're at the back eating, or have disappeared to talk to their friend elsewhere. UBM's were guilty of this too. They had this perception that because I was taller, i couldn't get tired or anything, so they would make me do a lot of nonsense. A lot of people FLED this work place because they were sick and tired of the way they were treated.

Sorry to read about your experience at Welcome Break, but thanks for leaving a review. If you do want to get in touch with me directly, confidentially, I'm curious as to what site you worked on as this doesn't read well or represent the experience many of our people have. Thank you Justin Morrison / Head of Talent and Resourcing
