Pros

stability in uncertain times. Good pay compared to competitiors. Decent bonus structure. Not for entitled crybabies. Has a good structure for moving up or moving locations if you want to. If you truly want to be promoted more quickly then you need to be willing to move. You always know where you stand with management and the company culture is great. Once you catch on, not stressful at all.

Cons

frequent change. Must embrace change. Don't count on lots of huge commission checks. But you can get decent consistent ones if you're a top performer. Interviews make the commission out to be a little better than what is realistic and common (as interviews are wont to do)

Pros

They are well-managed. They were not involved in any of the excessive debt and equity securities that caused the financial meltdown in 2008. Although during the mortgage boom time, every firm made huge fortune in mortgage backed securities and CDOs, Wells Fargo stayed away from those securities.

Cons

At the end, it's corporate America. With over 300,000 employees after Wachovia acquisition, really you're just a number in the company. Also, on retail banking side, some of the bankers are really not that knowledgeable. They don't know the basic financial terms and all they do is pushing products. They should be more selective with their employees.
