Pros

Family involvement, lots of nice people wanting to do good work

Cons

Leaderships changes its mind constantly and there are endless reorganizations and layoffs. Under the friendly surface it is super political.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. You're right that there are a lot of nice people who are doing good, meaningful work to contribute to research, higher education, and professional learning. Times of change are often difficult to manage, particularly when those changes happen at a fast-pace. I'm truly sorry if that contributed to a bad work experience.

Uninspired and Out of Date

Pros

Good work life balance. Most people leave at 5:00 or even earlier. Salary and benefits are decent. Hoboken office is in a good location and nice to work in. There are some people working here who really care about Wiley and making it better.

Cons

Lack of drive and motivation throughout the company. Very slow paced. After working for a competitor Wiley is behind and struggling to be relevant. Technology and business process is extremely out of date. It takes too long to get simple things accomplished and there is a lack of urgency or direction. Overall it just feels insignificant working here. It’s not a place to grow your career or challenge yourself. If you’re someone who likes to accomplish things this isn’t the place for you.

Worse company to work

Pros

Wiley is a worse company anyone can work in India. Wiley is run like a family business by Vikas Gupta where all employees are working for his family. Only the chosen one would be favored and would get to survive in this mess. Globally it is a big brand. Wiley India doesnt respect any employees in India. The attitude of Vikas Gupta is that of a dictator

Cons

I am from publishing industry and Wiley is now a joke in the industry as there was no action by the company on sexual harassment case against Vikas Gupta. This just shows the value Wiley gives to woman employees working here. There is no growth opportunity in Wiley and I know most of the people working here would be happy to leave Wiley if given an opportunity
