      Company with respected history, but no clear long term strategy.

      Pros

      -Financially sound, stock doing well -Some divisions offer advancement/promotion -Wiley family somewhat involved -Wiley Research and WIley Efficient Learning teams offer good products and services. -Benefits for employees are good -Women appear in leadership roles - New CEO hopefully will be a good change for the company!

      Cons

      -Confusing long term goals -Constant restructuring and downsizing leaves employees confused over how to do their newly redesigned jobs with little support or training -The Knowledge and Learning (higher education products) team is unfocused and lacks direction, strategy, and leadership. -Lack of diversity and minority leadership -Lack of career development, and promotion is based on who you know and not what you do -Constant turnover and realignment has resulted in my having 8 different managers in the last 5 years. -Performance evaluations are on paper only and have nothing to do with your current position. They are not reviewed at all throughout the year and suddenly sprung upon you at performance appraisal time.

      Cons

      This company is directionless. If you want to tread water to figure out your next move - this is the place to do it.

      Worst Decision Ever!

      Pros

      work/life balance, colleagues, products and brand. Relaxed working environemnts.

      Cons

      Technology 'leadership', hierarchical and lacking in experience and knowledge in critical areas, although, unwilling to listen or engage with those at lower levels, that have an abundance of experience. Head in the sand with some management simply not responsive to e-mail and incapable of making decisions or enabling those, willing to do so. Too many agenda's and political posturing, particularly in NJ.
