Pros

Some good benefits, lovely people, good work life balance, flexible and convenient for most people. The only publisher in the area.

Cons

Salaries are poor, not competitive and not standardised across the company. Wiley is constantly undergoing restructure leading to unhappy staff.

Pros

Generous vacation package with major holidays

Cons

Cutting jobs and pinching pennies while consultants treat us like a cash cow. Projects run over budget and even get abandoned. People resist so much change and have an air of entitlement. A lot of "that's not my job" going on here.

Pros

Work-life balance is excellent and most people are extremely talented and knowledgeable. The products are strong and there are amazing author connections.

Cons

The industry is in a downward spiral until the physical book versus the digital book battle is settled. Executives actually apologized for their blotched reorganizations and communications. Currently they are trying to 'get back on track' but it's a long tunnel with a pinpoint of light at the end.
