Pros

Good work-life balance, only 37 hour work week. Great IT support and up-to-date work stations. Offered on-site training and classes. Decent benefits and time off. Casual dress code.

Cons

Very corporate environment, a scene out of Office Space many days. Continuous lay-offs and budget cuts in recent years. High turnover, in part due to below average pay and monotonous work. While they promote from within, the job and hiring selection process is very political.

Terrific colleagues, terrible management

Pros

Caring, passionate co-workers who strive everyday to be the best they can be. Decent severance package. Lovely office space.

Cons

Low pay scale. Management is always changing course mid stream and management is too reliant upon consultants who really don't understand the culture of publishing. More than half the staff in my location have been laid off. General feeling is that management doesn't care.
