IFC as a place to work

Pros

International experience & mindset as one would be working in a number of projects in emerging markets. Good brand overall.

Cons

Limited career options. Work & life balance can be tricky to achieve sometimes, as the Corporation continues its decentralisation path.

The best and the worst

Pros

A fantastic benefits package- I don't think I will ever have this good an insurance package again. And the vacations rock - almost 26 vacation time in a year plus family leave plus emergency leave plus sick leave plus community service day off plus all national holidays. And a very relaxed atmosphere since there is no profit making- so everyone just works on their own pace.

Cons

Unlike the private sector, it is not cutting edge and can get very very boring. And after some time, the lack of variety in work can really start getting to you.
