Friendly, Professional, Poor IT, Long Working Hours and Low Pay
Pros
1. Professional environment 2. Friendly management 3. No office politics 4. Excellent team work, even between teams 5. Work from home possibilities (family friendly)
Cons
1. Constant problems with IT every day on all levels and lots of time wasted (I estimate that 50% of the time we are resolving broken PC and IT issues caused by regular untested IT changes) 2. Long working hours (often because teams are small and under-resourced 3. No appreciation or reward for hard work 4. Constant pressure to do more, stressful work environment 5. Regular pay / bonus cuts 6. A balanced feedback process means for someone to receive positive feedback must give negative feedback, even when people don´t deserve it. Often the entire team does great and we have to say half the team performed badly, which is extremely unfair. 7. Random appraisal process, means strangers give you feedback, which is often negative because of item 6. 8. IT support is terrible (excellent team, but under-resourced, over-worked and hard to access)
