      The few times you get to work on your own project or a genuinely great project of someone else are a real privilege Some companies are truly amazing and some of the best don't mind that you spend time with your family after work (they even recognize that there's "after work" in your life)

      Relatively low pay when compared to other jobs with same skillset Usually having to work on other people's games (as opposed to your own ideas) Some companies have awful work environments and horrible bosses Some companies assume you don't have a family and that you're OK with your children not knowing your name The tasks are usually either really difficult or incredibly boring routine Nothing ever works Tools that have been bought for a specific purpose don't work for that purpose
