      Old Swiss mindset and military men

      Pros

      Big company Not a bank International Easy to outshine colleagues Started to weed out some of the bad behavior and misconduct higher up the organization Very easy to see that the segments run the business and the functions are just seen as a 'nice to have'

      Cons

      Home office in Zurich suffers the same as many - incredibly political, hires and promotions are a mix of merit and old boys club, clash of culture between the Swiss hanging on to the old days and the rest trying to drag Zurich in to this 21C Lack of work life balance If you are a woman and want to have a family - Zurich is not the company for you - follow the swiss mindset that women should be in the home

      - Big business, lots of opportunities if you're proactive about finding them - L & D supported throughout the company, lots of learning options - Lots of very committed, dedicated staff

      Cons

      - Mediocrity is the norm - Very difficult to get things done - Management structure/ reporting lines are a mess - Jargon, management-speak and acronyms - Constant unnecessary meetings - Lack of accountability at all levels - Poor pay/ bonuses
