I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Activision Blizzard (Irvine, CA) in Feb 2024
Interview
Interviewed with two people that worked on an untitled project and it went well. We discussed my strengths, how I handled certain situation and delved into our shared love of video games in a pleasant conversation. I was super pleased to learn that I was being invited on for a second interview with two additional team members. One of them repeatedly called me the wrong name and the other one reminded me that I'm a cisgender man. I received an automated message months later that I had not been selected.
Initially, go through HR screening who then sets up a call with senior manager in related department. The first 1st round call was to go over my resume, experience, and tech skills and stack.

I applied online. I interviewed at Activision Blizzard (Irvine, CA) in Nov 2024
Interview
I received an email from a recruiter at Blizzard to set up an initial call after applying for a Lead Game Designer position. During the call, they expressed a lot of enthusiasm for my candidacy. They surfaced a new director-level position on an unannounced title that had just been posted that he thought I would be an even better fit for than the lead role. I said that sounded great. They concluded the call by saying they would talk to the hiring managers and get back to me by the end of the week - next week at the latest.
A month later and two emails trying to check in I never heard anything back, which just felt dissonant and unprofessional. It has been a genuinely disappointing experience.
