Interview
First was a phone interview. Recruiter was nice and professional. He let me know that the position would begin as a recruiter but would transit into a sales job after a year. I appreciated his honesty since I was not looking to go into sales.
Submitted my application online and didn’t here back for like two and a half months. Once the recruiter finally got back to me I had a quick screening interview with her regarding my background. It seemed to go pretty well and she told me that I’d hear back from her by the end of the week. Low and behold it was past the time she said she’d contacted me so I decided to call back to check on the status of my candidacy. She told me that she didn’t get back to me because apparently the office the she was hiring for all of a sudden went on a hiring freeze. I was pretty annoyed because when I talked to her it sounded as if she was never going to get back to me had I not called. I wasn’t mad about the hiring freeze, but if you’re a recruiter it’s your job to keep candidates in the loop of these types of things especially if it’s a candidate who actually made it to the first or second round of interviews.
