I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Bath & Body Works in Oct 2010
Interview
I applied for Seasonal work in the winter and when handing in my interview, I was set up for a group interview with the manager. She was very kind and flexible. I went that next week and sat in the food court with about 15 other girls. The manager asked simple questions in which we had to blurt out to respond. Bonus points if you do this- they notice you! By the end she said we would recieve a call if we got the job and they would be contacting references.

Interview
I applied in person in early April and never heard anything back. Because of this, I called the second week in May to ask if they would be doing anymore hiring and a week later I was called in for an interview. The process was very similar to those described on this website. I interviewed with SIX other girls so it was a little difficult to get a word in edgewise, but it was very laid back. I did not answer every question but I did answer most. The manager seemed very impressed by the fact that I was the only one who knew the store's return policy (which applies to the burnt candl question). I also practiced the whole "talk about your favorite product" thing and I feel that the preparation worked to my advantage. I just had the interview today and will find out Sunday whether or not I will be offered a position, but I feel very confident!

Interview
I got an application in the store from one of the managers and returned it back to her after some days. A few days later I called to speak with her- gave her my name told her i was interested in the position and what not. A week or so later I went back in the store and talked with her again about looking over my appllication. It's safe to say I was VERY persistent lol. About a week later I recieved a call from her scheduling an interview with a manager from another store.
The interview was one of the chillest ones I've had surprisingly! Knowing that it was a group interview freaked me out but since i came early i had the chance to talk to the two other girls that were in my group which made me a lot more relaxed. My interviewer did most of the talking and we were only asked 3 questions each. It lasted about an hour but time flew. I felt very good about the way things went and apparently my positive attitude shined because I got the job. Don't let the group interview process freak you out its not as bad as I thought it would be!
