I applied in-person. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Bath & Body Works in Sep 2011
Interview
I went in and was able to turn in my application to the store manager who offered me an interview for that afternoon. I was not told that it was a group interview. I arrived back at the store and was told to choose a product that I enjoyed and hold on to it for the interview. We were taken into the back room and asked to sit on chairs and ladders (there were 7 of us). The two managers asked questions in which we answered freely, we weren't asked to go in a specific order to answer each question. It was a very relaxed interview with lots of laughing and jokes. We then had to describe the product that we chose and explain why we liked it. The interview lasted about 30 minutes.

Interview
Printed out an application online and brought it into the store. The manager happened to be there when I brought it in so I introduced myself and asked if they were hiring. The manager told me they were and they would contact me the next week for an interview.
I got a call about a week later to come in for an interview the following week. I was told over the phone it would be a group interview, but when I got there it was just the manager and myself. I wore a blazer with a blouse under it and a matching skirt with low heels. I took my nose ring out, which was a good thing since I was informed they do not allow facial piercings.
I was instructed to pick out my favorite product and then went to the back stockroom area for the interview. The hiring manager was extremely nice and put me at ease. The questions were basic, mainly about past customer service experiences and how you would handle different customer situations. I also had to "sell" the product I had picked earlier. Make sure to stress customer service and how you are a "people person." They are looking for you to be very outgoing and customer oriented. The interview took about 30 minutes overall.
