I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Bayer (Saint Louis, MO) in May 2021
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter and then was interviewed by talent sourcing and the hiring manager. The internal talent sourcer was OK but slightly snippy when I asked more about the position. The hiring manager had a background on during our teams interview but when they moved I could see that they had the news on in the background and during the case study portion of my interview they did not turn the video off and were clearly watching. I was not disappointed that it was my last interview... the hiring manager was clearly not interested in engaging with me.
After pursuing me for months, they scheduled 7 AM interviews to accommodate European interviewers.
The scheduling of interviews was a nightmare. They asked for dates weeks in advance, then sent notification about the interviews with less than 12 hours notice forcing me to move existing meetings.
The job required extensive international travel, but required me to be in a US office when I wasn't traveling. That told me the director was a micromanager and overly obsessed with controlling his team.
After 4 rounds of interviews I was told they would let me know about next steps very soon. That was 5 months ago. I have heard nothing.
Not sour grapes, but I would not have accepted the role.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bayer (Whippany, NJ)
Interview
Initial phone screen with the hiring manager who asked basic questions. Secondary phone screening with department's director. In office panel interview with hiring manager and other team members. Courtesy phone screening with cross functional team managers. Overall, everyone was respective and professional. Only down side is not meeting the expectations of personal questions.
