2 or 3 rounds of interviews, mix of phone and in person. You interview with 3 different people total. The process and hearing back takes about a few months.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at CNN (Washington, DC) in Jan 2018
Interview
I sent an email to the recruiter inquiring about the position. She then called me for a Phone Interview. It was very straight forward and she asked about the show that I was interviewing for and if I watched it. Then I had an In-Person interview at CNN, followed by a Rejection Email. I would have appreciated more correspondence.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at CNN (New York, NY) in Jan 2018
Interview
I was referred to the position by a current employee and within 2 days received a phone call from the recruiter to set up a time to speak with the executive producer. We spoke 3 days later. It was a short phone call, and there was more detail on what the job position was/entailed than how qualified I was for the job. He did not ask very many questions about my experience and stated the recruiter would get back to me in a few weeks. A few weeks passed and I emailed the recruiter to check in on the status, but was told they were still in the process of hiring and I would be contacted about the next steps as soon as possible. It’s been over 3 months and I didn't ever hear anything back in regards to my application. I even sent a follow up email and was met with silence. I was pretty disappointed to be left in limbo and the lack of communication definitely reflected poorly on the company in my view.
