Interview
I applied online and was emailed about a Job Fair about 2 weeks later. There were 10 other people there. We were interviewed by the kitchen manager and a few other people. They had to cut the initial meeting short, but expect more than one interview at Chipotle, because their very meticulous about who they hire.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Chipotle in Sep 2014
Interview
I got an email from Chipotle saying to come into an interview. I was so excited, so I studied up on them for HOURS the night before watching all their videos on the site and doing extensive research on any possible interview question they might ask. When I went to the interview to no surprise it was a group interview of maybe 8 people. He asked us one main question of how much we know about Chipotle, our passions, and things we like to do for fun. Since I had done lots of research on them I was the only one who talked about how they opened in 1993 in Denver Colorado and actually used their motto "food with integrity". Most the applicants had nothing to say but the food was great. I made great eye contact with him the entire time as well. He only asked one other question which was an open question for anyone to just answer and I was the first one to answer then only two other girls answered as well. At the end he asked if we had any questions and I was the only one to ask a question. I thought that would look good since one of their 13 characteristics was being curious. I assume they don't actually want people with these characteristics because in my opinion, not trying to sound cocky at all, but i absolutely nailed it however just hours later they sent me an email saying they weren't interested. I'm very upset because I know in my heart I did wonderful in that interview, I did everything everyone tells you to do, but apparently they are looking for people who ambitious and curious like they said they were.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Chipotle (Champaign, IL) in Mar 2012
Interview
Submitted an online application, had an employee recommendation, got a call from one of the managers. Went in for an interview 1:1, and it was pretty relaxed. The interviewer was extremely friendly, and he asked me the basic questions (see below). I was offered the spot and trained on the job. They had me sample all the ingredients and watch some videos on how everything is made and the Chipotle business ideals and such. And then I was put in to shadow for 10 minutes, and I learned each position on the spot. That was probably the most stressful part. Being thrown in to take customer orders right away. But overall well done by the business.
