I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Chipotle (Spokane, WA) in May 2013
Interview
I applied online and did not think much of it. A few months later I received an e-mail telling me that I had an interview the next week.
Upon arriving it was clear that this would be a group interview as one was already in the process. I sat with a few other girls until it was our interview time. We were offered drink cups but none of us took the offer.
The interview itself was strange. It felt like we were competing to see who would answer first and who would answer the best. The questions were basic though. Why chipotle? What do you know about Chipotle? Etc. The manager then told us a lot of background about Chipotle.
After the interview, he said he would call us if he wanted us to come back for a 2nd interview. Not even an hour later, I received a call from him asking me to come back the next day.
The next day, I was on my way to the interview when I saw I had a voicemail. It was the manager. He evidently was not aware before the 1st interview that I am 17 and you must be 18 to work at Chipotle. He basically was telling me not to come in so I wouldn't waste my time. I do not believe this is professional whatsoever. They should really check the ages of the people they interview before hand.

Question 1
What do you know about Chipotle? Do some research before the interview
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Chipotle (Rosemont, IL) in Jul 2013
Interview
I applied online for the Chicago Field Recruiter position. I was then sent an email to a link to schedule my interview. I followed the link and scheduled the interview with no problem but I was not given an address. I was stressing about this for about 5-6 days until someone finally noticed and sent the candidates an email with the address for the interviews. I arrived for my interview about 10 minutes early. I was not given the name of who I would be meeting so I checked in with the cashier and was directed to the interviewer. I was walked over by the cashier and was standing directly across from the interviewer who was currently interviewing two other candidates. I was in no way acknowledged and the interviewer continued with her current interview. I assumed I was early and did not want to be rude and interrupt so I sat at the table next to where they were interviewing. I sat there for about 10-15 minutes (again without so much as an "I will be right with you", or a "please come join us" or anything). I eventually walked out as I did not feel welcome. I have never done this before at an interview. I did my homework on the company and if they spent half the time sourcing candidates that they spend on sourcing their produce and meat they would be able to bring in the best and the brightest employees. I feel that by having group interviews they are missing out on high quality candidates. Chipotle prides themselves on hiring employees that have the following 13 characteristics: 1. Ambitious 2. Happy 3. Smart 4. Polite 5. Respectful 6. Honest 7. Conscientious 8. Presentable 9. Curious 10. Motivated 11. Hospitable 12. High Energy 13. Infectiously Enthusiastic!!! I feel that my interviewer was not polite, respectful, or hospitable when it came bo welcoming me and making sure I felt like I belonged at the interview. I do not feel that this position would have been a good fit for me anyway as I would prefer to meet candidates one on one in order to give them my undivided attention rather than have group interviews. I guess it worked out for the best. I would definitely like to interview with Chipotle again in the future if they change their stance on recruiting and interviewing.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Chipotle (Grand Junction, CO) in May 2013
Interview
I initially applied through an online application. About 4 days later I received an email explaining my interview was scheduled for the following week; however, it gave no specific time, so I had to phone the restaurant to find out.
When I showed up to the restaurant there were two of us: a girl and myself. The first question was, "what are you looking for?" My immediate response was a career, and the girl replied she wanted something just for summer until she goes off to university. The interviewer turned to her and stated, "I'm sorry, but we're looking for someone who will stay with us longer." She then glared at the girl as if ushering her to leave telepathically until the girl finally did so. Her interview process lasted literally 30 seconds, and the interviewer didn't even offer an apologetic, "I'm sorry for completely and utterly wasting your time."
My interview went slightly better. I made it to the next question. "Do you have any restaurant experience?" I told her I had some (I pick up small jobs at a local fine dining restaurant on occasion). She told me it wasn't enough, and they weren't looking to train anyone. She then gave me the same uncomfortable glare, but I didn't hesitate like the girl; I IMMEDIATELY left. The first girl made it 30 seconds, I made it a minute.
I have read many extremely negative reviews on the interview process for Chipotle, and I have to say I agree with all of them. I was skeptical before, but after the joke of an interview process I'm a believer.
All-in-all, I will never apply for a job at Chipotle again even if I gain the experience to open my own fine dining restaurant in NYC, LV, etc. I also don't eat there anymore. The process was so terrible they've lost my business for life.
Qdoba it is!!
