I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at DoiT (Singapura) in Feb 2023
Interview
Despite DoiT is a relatively small organization with high ratio of HM and TA to candidates, the whole interview process has been well greased towards excellent candidate experience! Started with well written JD that strikes me as the organization I would invest my future with, follow by a first 30-min call with the hiring manager for mutual understanding of both parties. Again for an organization that emphasis candidate experience, DoiT is fully aware an interview process is a two way process, both for the hiring team to evaluate the candidate and at the same time for the candidate to evaluate the organization. Therefore the first impression has been great with the hiring manager very transparent about the culture and the role. Next step was a first round of competency assessment with the same hiring manager and a peer. The interview questions was a typical T - general with deep dive to gauge the depth of understanding. I was very impressed by the technical questions that both interviewers covered from network to containerisation. While I failed to answer some of the in-depth questions, the interviewers are very openly discuss the possibilities which gave me the impression that the organization walk the talk when DoiT claims that they invest in the people, even at the start of the interviewing process of teaching me through the questions! I had to do more research after the session to understand the in-depth concepts and I learnt a lot from that 1-hour interview! Following that was a round 2 technical assessment. If you are thinking why do we need so many rounds of technical assessment, well to me, given the knowledge I acquired from first session, I would look forward to learn more in the subsequent session, knowing that this organization hired the very technical competence folks with the spirit of teaching to fish! Round 2 covers more on the human skills and it was great chat! I shared my hobby project on IPFS and that became one of the discussion points on how did I setup the nodes. Amazing experience! Last round was a leadership interview. I met with the VP and the session was stress free - the VP was so approachable and I was like talking to an old friend! Overall, this was one of the best candidate experience I ever had. I have been uphold candidate experience when I was in Amazon but DoiT elevated the experience to the next level!

Question 1
From networking to containerizations, to architecture and people management skills
Had a phone screening with the company recruiter. Was told I was moving to the next round. Sent portfolio and prepped for interview. I login on the day of the interview and wait. 2 minutes after the interview was supposed to start the recruiter called to cancel the interview and reject me. She said I didn’t have cloud experience which is untrue, I have AWS experience, and that the hiring manager didn’t want to talk to me. Rejection is fine, however, the way this was handled was very unprofessional.
