I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Jan 2011
Interview
Tailor your resume to Epic's corporate culture, and they really look for young people that are smart, driven, social and are a good fit for their company. They ask you questions like "Why Epic?" "Where do you see yourself in five and ten years?" -- the usual spiel. May ask you to give a presentation or look at a case study. First phone interview, then extended a one on one interview.

Which university did you attend?
Why do you like your project?

Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What language do you prefer to code in ( i.e. procedural / obj oriented) and why?
The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Madison, WI) in Feb 2010
Interview
Important:
Skills test
Presentation
Showing that you have the right sort of "Type A" personality during the HR general one-on-one (no tough/unexpected questions)
Not important/hard:
Dinner the night before
Case study
Lunch/informal interviews (with current Epic PM)
Initial personality test
Be relaxed and friendly during your presentation. Show you have a sense of humor. I got the feeling that they were really looking for young people who are polished, articulate and quick on their feet enough to appear credible to hospital staff skeptical about Epic PM's youth.
