I applied through college or university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Verona, WI) in Dec 2010
Interview
Began with application and personality test. After that, they came back with a phone interview. After the phone interview, someone in HR mailed out a skills assessment that I took at a local library. About a week later they invited me out for an in person interview; they flew me out to Madison and covered all costs. Went through a long day of interviews, was called a week later with an offer. Still deciding whether or not to accept.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Jan 2011
Interview
My interview experience so far has been nearly identical to those listed on this site, except that I was initially contacted by the company's HR department and asked by them to apply for the Technical Services position. (I also applied for SQA and Technical Writing as I'm very interested in these areas.) This may be because I'm 15+ years out of college, not a new grad, but I can't be sure.
I took the online personality test (Rembrandt), had the phone interview (lasted about 45 minutes) and just completed the skills test. My experience so far has been quite positive: the phone interview person seemed genuinely interested in my background (which has veered away from technology in the last 10 years), and the HR folks have been responsive and supportive. I don't know if I scored well enough on the skills assessment to continue the interview, but overall I've been pleased with the process.
