I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Dec 2011
Interview
Applied online, recieved personality profile a few days later, then phone interview a week after that. Phone interview went well, like others have said, basic questions about experiences on group projects and the like, why you're interested in the job. A week after that I recieved an email inviting to interview in person. They paid all expenses (flight, nice hotel, meals, taxi) and you can stay a couple of nights if you want to. Had a tour of the campus, software overview, two interviews, and took some assesments. Very relaxed dress code, but many candidates still wore suits- they don't reccomend it. The atmosphere is generally quirky, there are a lot of software IT types, so some of the buildings have a "nerdy" theme to them. If you're an ivy league type used to strict professionalism, you'll probably hate the place. There are rumors that if you get invited to interview on site, you already have the job unless you are a complete sociopath during the interview. They are always interviewing people, in pat because they are growing so fast, and in part because so many people take other offers. Salary is very competitive, particularly for new grads, and Madison is a cheap place to live compared to the coasts, but more expensive than the south or midwest.

Interview
The interview was very casual and relaxed. The interviewer asked me about my resume, and interest in healthcare. After the phone interview I was invited to WI to interview in person including giving a 10 minute presentation on a topic of my choice.

I recently completed the phone interview after several reschedules. It was very casual and went well. I was asked about my present position, how I was contacted initially, why I would like to work at Epic and when I would be available. My experience has been very pleasant so far.
