I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Indeed (Austin, TX) in Oct 2020
Interview
It was a video interview, which took about 15 minutes after half an hour of waiting. It turned out to be more of screening rather than an actual interview. The interviewer was super nice and told me that I seem to fit the requirements. She gave me a timeframe for the next steps, which never happened (a week later I got a rejection email).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Very classical and basic screening questions such as:
1) tell me about your job experience
2) why are you interested in a customer success role
3) why Indeed
I applied online. I interviewed at Indeed (Austin, TX) in Nov 2020
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter and had a very "human" conversation with him. He was very friendly and I was left with a good feeling. The recruiter told me that I would have an assessment that I would need to finish within 24-48 hours. I was nervous about it but it was pretty easy. There was a typing test and then an aptitude test.
Typing Test- Typical typing test where you have to type the paragraph that is on the the screen and the clock stops when you are done typing it out.
I was so nervous that I couldn't get my hands to stop shaking. I usually hit 44-50 wpm and my score was way lower.
Aptitude Test- Mostly multiple choice, tests your problem solving skills, your attention to detail and some scenario questions.
After passing the assessment, I had a two part interview with the managers and then the director of the department. And again, I could not stop shaking and couldn't help my nerves when speaking with the managers but I got through it someway or another. I had a way easier time with the director who hopped on the zoom call after a few minutes. The questions were mostly the same for both but the managers asked more in depth questions. Now, I'm just waiting to see if get an offer or not.
My advice: Stay calm, be yourself and don't stress yourself out too much. You will be fine as long as you know what's on your resume and make sure you know the job description . Check out some of the youtube videos about Indeed, as well to get an idea of the culture.
But again don't stress yourself out!
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Indeed (Stamford, CT) in Dec 2019
Interview
The interview process was very straightforward and clear. After a friend of mine submitted the referral for me, I quickly heard back to schedule a phone screening. They have you pick a date and time, and the screening itself is about 30 minutes. The screening is pretty basic; they ask some HR questions, plus questions like "Why do you want to work for Indeed?" "Why are you thinking of leaving your current job?" Keep in mind that if you want to stand out, add some value to your answers. Don't just give generic answers.
Shortly after, there is a standard phone interview. They may ask some of the same questions! The idea is to keep your answers consistent and valuable. As some of these reviews have noted, they do in fact base most of their situational questions off the STAR method. Be prepared with stories to tell about your experience in customer service. They want to see that your a team player, collaborative, and a good problem solver.
After the phone interview came a writing assessment. This is also pretty standard. They ask you to answer two questions: "Introduce yourself to a new client" and "Help a client set up their account on Indeed." You have 30 minutes to type up your answer! The key to passing this is really just good grammar. What I did was I wrote out my answers before and then typed them back into the fields, *NOT COPY AND PASTE*.
Finally, there was the in-person interview. My interview time did get changed because of the holidays, but that was to be expected. Thankfully my recruiter was excellent in communicating with me and making sure I was kept in the loop. You may end up sitting down with a few managers, including possibly one that will be your direct manager. Again, come prepared with stories and experiences! Be enthusiastic! My recruiter gave me a tour of the office afterward, which was so nice. Really got to get a glimpse into the day-to-day.
I received my offer about a week after my in-person interview! Overall it was a great experience and my best advice is to be prepared to talk about yourself! They want to know if you're going to be a good fit for their clients, and for your future team.
