I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Intercontinental Exchange (Chicago, IL) in May 2022
Interview
Short phone screen with recruiter.
Two video interviews with hiring manger.
Simple conversation with both managers.
This company will not let a candidate know they are not a good fit. They will ghost you.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Intercontinental Exchange (Pleasanton, CA) in Jun 2021
Interview
HR round, take home assignments (on ER modeling), followed by discussion by 2 teammates and manager. Then Senior Director and VP Interview. Everything was virtual. Mostly focused on how would you handle scenarios and past experiences
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Intercontinental Exchange (Houston, TX) in Mar 2022
Interview
The process from the start was not clear. In total had 6 interviews over 4 months and went to 2 industry happy hours to network further.
In the end, was told I was "overqualified due to my former fuel trading and sales experience in financial services". Not sure why it took 4 months and 6 interviews to ascertain that I was overqualified for the role. Seems like senior leadership isn't empowering local managers and dir to make decisions. Just my gut feeling...
Interviews-
1. The first one was the typical HR interview with setting salary and commission expectations
2. Met with the Director, really great conversation and he gave me feedback at the end of the interview. Good or bad feedback is always better than no feedback. Really appreciated his candor.
3. Met with the hiring manager. Typical discussion centered around past experiences and challenges the role presents. One thing to note, the hiring manager gave the impression he was trying to talk me out of the role.
4. Met with the hiring manager NY based counterpart. Very standard interview about my past, and his experiences at ICE. Great conversation.
5. Role-playing exercise with the Dir, hiring manager, and hiring manager's counterpart. All 3 were people I already interviewed with. Presented and pitched ICE. Again, the Dir did a great job at encoriaging everyone to provide positive or negative feedback. I got all very positive feedback on how and what I pitched.
6. Met with the VP of the dept. Very nice guy, and spoke about the market in general.
